Craftspaper bag walls
» tybensmom06 - paper bag walls I have dug up an old article from 2004 and that i am trying to get further information on. i am trying to find out about doing the paper bag walls. she has said to use latex paint and water it down. but what if I do not want to use a color. I just want the brown look. someone else had said something about using actual stain. do you water the stain down as well? also I am wanting to do this in a kitchen so what ever I topcoat it with it will need to be resistant. so will the latex paint or the stain be good enough for spots such as water not to show? thanks for all the help. -- posted by tybensmom06 » Mary Welling-Bonney - paper bag walls In response to paper bag walls posted by tybensmom06:
Being in a kitchen though it would have to be sealed. There are a number of things you can do to seal it. Most of them will change the appearance of the paper bags. There is a product called liquid latex that would be clear. You could also use a type of decoupage method and water down glue. This method would allow for the room to change in a few years with the least amount of difficulty. It you intend for it to stay that way for a very long time, I would even consider polyurethane I like the idea of the stain but it will soak through to your walls so I would water it just because it is going to wind up darker because of the absorption of the paper.
