Avoid the candy

Yes, we love chocolate. But we hate the guilt and all of the extra work to remove it off of the hips and thighs.

This Valentine's day give her a gift that she will love.

If she is a woman who does:

  • Scrapbooking-buy a leather bound scrapbook, good paper and embellishments
  • Candlemaking-buy wicks, wax, molds and scents
  • Crochet and knitting-good yarn-the expensive stuff
  • Quilting-buy quilt blocks and quilting tools
  • Painting-buy canvas, stretchers, brushes or easel
  • Cardmaking-buy card stock, fancy card and envelope sets and embellishments

When you buy a gift for a woman that is about her crafting, it tells her that you value what is important to her.

Gift cards are very generic for someone saying "I Love You". Gift cards only work if they are given in a romantic, thoughtful gesture. For example, your wife loves to sew but finds it difficult to find the time. Fill a basket with threads and needles and little inexpensive notions for sewing. Tuck into the basket a gift card for the fabric store with a note promising on a specific day and time (this part is important) that you are going to take the kids away for the day so she can sew. Then make sure you follow through. It will be a gift that gives her joy and time to enjoy her passion. She just may find more passion to thank you when the kids are asleep in bed.
