If you have ever tried to put up a fence near trees you know how tough it is to get beyond to root systems.
This project allows you to put the fence above ground and not worry about damaging the roots of your favorite tree.
On April 26, we will begin publishing a two part article on how to make and install a fence without using the traditional fence posts. The design includes a raised flowerbed that will give you the opportunity to make a boring area really turn into a showcase.

This is the perfect project for the yard with trees dividing the front and backyard. At different times of the year when the trees are not at their best, this area tends to look drab and old. Adding a shiny white picket fence will keep life in that area all year long.
Plant bulbs in the flower boxes and put annuals over top. That will allow you to have color and blooms this year with the blooms for next year already to go.
Design your flowerbox so that you have a continuous variety of color or just a few colors to accent the rest of the landscaping. Whichever way you choose will give you added value to your home and that something extra.
In a few years if you are ready for a change, you can move out the fence boxes and put them in another part of the yard or store them until you do need them.
