Are you like me and have all the cake decorating tips from cakes gone by but always seem to be buying the pastry bags for the icing?

Here is a cost saving/ time saving tip. Don't worry about running to the store for the pastry bags. You can cut the bottom corner off of a ziploc bag and screw your tips on. You can also store the whole thing in a second ziploc if you have cakes to make over several days.

In decorating cakes for the holidays, think big. It is amazing what you can go with gum drops and licorice. After icing your cake, take a look at gingerbread houses.

Why not decorate your cake to look like a gingerbread house, a carosel, or a poinsetta? The top of a cake would make a great snowman head. Get create and write me what you did.
