Easter for a Teen

When Candy Baskets Don't Work

Many times our teens get to that point where the thrill is gone.

They are not into the joys of candy anymore and don't thrill at the idea of an Easter dress and bonnet. Not to worry. You can still bring the fun back into Easter for them.

Just like everything as they get older though, it will cost more.

Does your teen boy want that pair of tennis shoes that are not necessary but are important to his social status? Here's what you do. Purchase the shoes. Now wrap the shoe box bottom in Easter colored paper. Put the top of the box on the bottom upside down. You can wrap it or leave it unwrapped. Put the shoes back in the box. Cover the shoes with tissue paper. Now put a layer of Easter grass over the tissue. Sprinkle candy here and there and top it off with the chocolate bunny. Imagine his surprise.

What if your teen is looking for that IPod or cell phone? Wrap it up and put it in the very bottom of an Easter basket. Now once again fill the basket with Easter grass and the typical candy and chocolate rabbit.

You can do the same thing with any gift to make it a surprise. My parents always surprised us with bicycles. Just when we thought they forgot or just didn't get one, they would send us to the basement for something. Low and behold the bike would be sitting there in the basement with a bright red bow.

Just because they are getting older doesn't mean they can't still enjoy the holiday.
