Chalkboard paint is durable and erasable, making it great for craft projects and home decorating ideas. Remember that several coats may be necessary and it's very important to let the paint dry fully before applying a new coat. It takes a little longer than regular paint, but it's well worth it.
Most chalkboard paints are available in traditional black or green, but it's easy to make if a different color is required. Simply mix a cup of latex paint in the color of your choice and mix with two tablespoons of unsanded tile grout. Coasters

Calendar
- Stay organized with a chalkboard calendar. This one can be done right on the wall in a kitchen, office, or mudroom. Start with a black basecoat and then mix in a little white paint to create alternating lighter squares.
Tabletop
- Cover a tabletop in a child's room with chalkboard paint. They can play games like tic-tac-toe or use it to make pretty pictures.

People can write their names on them before going in. You'll never have to pound on the door and yell, "Who's in there?" again!
