Do your newspaper clippings tend to look like a newspaper clipping glued to cardstock? Have you tried framing them only to have them look like a framed newspaper? Try some of the ideas below. Send me your ideas. I would be glad to print them.

  1. Using rubber cement, back the article with cardstock for strength. Trim the edges so you do not see the cardstock beyond the edges of the article. Now cut the article into 3 pieces. Lay out the article as follows keeping the article pieces in their original position. Using double-sided foam mounting tape attach the first piece. This will raise it up about 1/32nd of an inch off of your surface. Now attach the second piece directly onto your surface. Now attach the third piece using the double-sided foam mounting tape but this time stack two pieces one on top of the other. This will raise this section about 1/16th on an inch off of the surface. You have the same article but it have some depth of surface. Try not to cut the pieces in equal parts. You can cut more or less pieces depending on how large the article is.
  2. Copy the article. Newsprint is not the most attractive paper. It will also yellow. Copy the article onto card stock or scrap booking paper. You can even copy it onto a paper with color a subtle design running through it.
  3. If you are intent on using the original newsprint, cover it with clear contact paper on both sides to preserve it. Over time newspaper will crumble. The contact paper will keep this new for ages.
  4. Combine 1 & 2. Copy the article onto good paper and then give it dimension.

E-Mail Me with your ideas. I will be glad to print them.
