Pros and Cons to Traveling For a Craft ShowCraft Shows Are Fun, But They Can Be A Lot Of Work Too
When going to a craft show that is far from home, crafters do need to remember how much fun it can be and how hard at the same time.
There are many ways that a craft show can be fun, but there are also just as many ways that it can be hard to do. This is made even harder when a crafter chooses to travel for the show. There are some pros and cons that everyone who is a crafter to think of before they make that big plunge. Traveling For the ShowThe big pro to traveling is that the crafter gets to have a whole new set of people to market to. If these people like what the crafter has to offer, they may be willing to go to a website that the crafter has set up in order to purchase more products or services and have them shipped to them. The biggest con to traveling for the show is that the crafter has to drive a long distance. This can be hard for a crafter because they may not like to drive or the weather can be a problem in some cases. Also many crafters chose to haul their products in a pull behind trailer that can be difficult to pull in some cases. Remembering EverythingA pro to attending a show outside of town is that the crafter will have to remember everything. If this is one of the first few shows that the crafter has done, then they will get their feet wet and learn what they really need. This can be made easier by making a list of things that are needed to make the show run smoothly. A con is simply remembering every little thing. The crafter may think that they have everything and then realize that they are short a pen or don’t have the right tape to stick a sign up in the booth. It’s inevitable and almost for sure to be done at least once during your craft show experience. Family and Other ObligationsA pro to traveling for a craft show with a family is that anyone that goes will get to spend the time together that they may have wanted. If the crafter is traveling a lot, then this might be a good way for the family to stay together while the crafter does what they really love to do. A con is that if the crafter is a single parent, then the traveling for craft show really changes. The crafter may not be able to work the craft show as easily because they will have to also take care of their children and other obligations. Traveling for craft shows can be a lot of fun, but it can also be hard if the person that’s doing them is not ready for the challenges that are ahead of them. A crafter should not be afraid to give it a try as least once in their crafting career.
