This project is great because it looks like you spent a great deal of money when you didn't.

We are going to make a bead tassel that can be attached to a chain for a pendant or to a key ring for a very unique and attractive gift. If it is for someone special, make both and give it as a set.

For Necklace

Materials needed:

1 -1" jump ring

6 to 8 -1/4" jump rings

bead skewers (approx 4" long)

variety of beads

Take a bead skewer and fill it with beads of different shades, textures and sizes. It is good to stay within one family of colors. (If you can't find the skewers, use wire and attach the first bead to the end of the wire to secure it tight.)

Attach the skewer to a 1/4" jump ring. Repeat with each skewer.

Attach all of the 1/4" jump rings to the 1" jump ring. Now you can add a chain.

For Key ring:

Materials needed:

1 1/4" Key ring

1 -1/2" jump ring

6 to 8 -1/4" jump rings

bead skewers (approx 4" long)

variety of beads ( The larger the bead the less you will need)

Take a bead skewer and fill it with beads of different shades, textures and sizes. It is good to stay within one family of colors. (If you can't find the skewers, use wire and attach the first bead to the end of the wire to secure it tight.)

Attach the skewer to a 1/4" jump ring. Repeat with each skewer.

Attach all of the 1/4" jump rings to the 1/2" jump ring. Now attach the 1/2" jump ring to the key ring.

Variation: If you want to use really large beads, use only one skewer and you can still attach it to a jump ring and make a necklace or keychain.
