The garland is the stores is nice but at Christmas, nice isn't enough.
Here is a way that you can create a garland that is distinctly you. Regular garlandFirst choose a fabric that is distinctly you. For example, if you are very earthy you might choose burlap. If you are into luxurious, you might choose damask or a designer fabric. You can also use your ethnicity. You can choose a fabric that represents your family culture. You will need about 3 yards of fabric. You can use more or less depending on how long you want your garland. Cut fabric into 8 inch strips. Sew them together, end to end, into one long strip. Hem the ends and you are ready to decorate your tree. For a fuller garlandUse twice as much fabric. Cut fabric into 16 inch strips. Sew them end to end into one long strip. Fold over, wrong side out and sew along the outside edge leaving and opening to turn fabric right side out. Turn the fabric. Stitch up the opening. You can press if you choose but it will be fuller if you don't. Now decorate your tree. Fullest garlandTo make the fullest garland, make the fuller garland and before you stitch up the opening add fiber fill lightly to give it some dimension. You don't want to stuff it a lot or your tree will look like a stuffed toy. Have fun with it and try different fabrics for different looks. Merry Christmas from Crafts.
