Instructions

  1. In Word or other document software, open a new document. Use Page Setup to turn the page to a landscape document and minimize the margins to the smallest size allowed by your software.
  2. Type various words and phrases for and about motherhood. Use different fonts for each word or phrase.
  3. Separate the words or phrases with clip art or decorative bullets.
  4. Once you’ve set up several lines about mother, copy it and paste it until the entire page is full of text.
  5. Print out two copies of your page.
  6. If you want the page to have an aged look, soak the papers in tea for fifteen or twenty minutes.
  7. Allow the pages to dry then iron them with a hot iron until they are smooth.
  8. Spray the back of one page with spray adhesive and immediately apply it to the container, lining it up to the top edge of the container. Repeat with the second page so that the pages wrap around the circumference of the container.
  9. There will be an inch or two of uncovered space at the bottom of the container. This is okay.
  10. Use your hot glue gun and trim to decorate around the bottom and the top edges of the container. (It would be wise to test the ability of the lid to fit over the trim before you glue the top edge.)
  11. Rub ink along the edge and top of the lid.
  12. Find an image you would like for the top of the box and cut a circle to fit in the top of the lid.
  13. Cut a heart out of coordinating paper.
  14. Use the spray adhesive to fix the heart to the image that will be the top of the lid.
  15. Sandwich the collage between two layers of double-sided tape. Be careful to make sure that the edges of the tape fit together seamlessly. Trim tape to the edges of the collage.
  16. Remove the backing for the tape that is on the reverse side of the collage and adhere it to the lid. Press firmly.
  17. Remove the backing tape from the front of the collage.
  18. Sprinkle the collage with micro glass beads. Make sure to thoroughly coat the entire surface. Shake off excess beads.
