Natural MaterialsHave fun scavenging the following items for your wreath:
Note: If you want your wreath to last for many years, use artificial gourds, apples and pumpkins. Wreath AssemblyYou will need a large work surface to make this wreath. Start off by hot-gluing colorful leaves randomly all over the grapevine wreath. You don't want any of the grapevine wreath to show. Be sure and do this randomly with some of the leaves sticking over the edges. If you like your wreath sparkly, spray the leaves and fruit with a spray adhesive. While still wet, sprinkle gold or copper colored glitter on your wreath. Glue the gourds and pumpkins randomly to the wreath. Then glue the small apples, also randomly. The last thing you will glue to the wreath are the cinnamon sticks. Bundle three or four sticks together with raffia. Make 4 or 5 bundles and glue them randomly on the wreath. Make a bow from the wire-edged ribbon and glue to the top of your wreath. Allow all the glue to dry completely before hanging your wreath. You now have a very colorful harvest wreath to hang on your front door. You can enjoy this wreath all season long; longer if you use artificial fruits and vegetables. A Harvest Wreath that Kids Can MakeDon't leave your kids out; they can make their own harvest wreath. It is simple to make. All you will need are paper plates, glue, scissors, paint and construction paper. Be sure and cover your table with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth.
Fall can be a refreshing time of year for you and your family. Enjoy making a harvest wreath as a family. It's a fun project the whole family can have fun making. When you are finished, take a walk together in the fall air and through the leaves. Find more holiday and seasonal crafts on Suite101.
