There are some great new books on the market you will want to add to your library.
Some are real surprises. Holly Jolly Christmas Quilting published by DRG is just such a book. I honestly expected it to be kind of boring. Here is another Christmas quilting book in a long line of Christmas quilting books. I was so wrong. This book is really a joy. It is filled with wonderful projects that include table linens, ornaments, tree skirts and loads more. Every page you turn gets the ideas churning. The ideas are fun, original and are not just for the quilter. They are for all crafters. This is a must have for your collection. I read through it and found there is so much packed into it that each time I went back to reread it, I found projects I missed previously. It gives directions and patterns for all of the projects and includes projects you can use all year round. Anyone would love to be gifted with any of the items in this book as well as the book itself. C & T Books has come up with another winner. Pop-up Paper Structures is a book that shows how to make three dimensional cards, books, gift tags and party favors. This really takes your card making and journaling to a new level. The directions are easy to follow and allow for you to bring your own creativity to the table. Remember those 3-D cards you loved as a child? This book allows you to create 3-D cards for your friends and family. It is not just a card, it takes them back to those times as a child. These cards are so fun to make. The best part is coming up with your own ideas while you are making them. Designing the Doll by Susanna Oroyan has got to be another one of my top ten books ever. She does not show you how to make your basic doll with variations. She shows you how to make the extreme dolls and each one is unique. This book is not just for the expert. It gives the novice a solid basic understanding of form and figure. It includes photos of dolls that go that extra mile. This is another one of those books that stirs the imagination. I have included links to each book. Check them out. While you are on the websites, look around. If there is a book you are curious about simply send me an e-mail.
