The holidays take so much effort and resources that by the time they are over we crafters often find ourselves exhausted and ready for all of the festivities to just be done. For months we have been sewing, quilting, painting, hot gluing, crocheting, baking and more. All of our free time has been spent making gifts, decorating yet another tree and trying to come up with a creative way to wrap one more gift. We have gotten through all of the office parties and still have our jobs. We have visited every relative and ate way too much food. All the wrap has been collected and is bagged at the curb. The guests have all come and all gone. All that is left is to sit back and relax. Know you got through one more holiday making everyone a very special Christmas. Put aside the thought about starting again six months from now. This one is for you.
Twas the night before the big Craft sale and all through the house,
Excitement was building, (except for my spouse).
The coupons were clipped, and stacked all in a row.
95% off saves us all kinds of dough.
My daughter was sleeping all snug in her bed
While visions of embellishments danced in her head.
I was making a list
Of what not to forget
Papers, punches, Xyron,
And stickers, you bet.
Scissors, Cricket, storage and glue
Cardstock, ribbon and an album or two.
By 7a.m. we were up and out the door
We were first in line in front of the store.
As they opened the doors I ran for the cart
Keeping pace with my daughter, we were ready to start.
More rapid than Colorbok, Fiskar and Plaid
Buying crafts and saving money makes us ever so glad.
I whistled and shouted to get straight to work.
Get markers! Get rulers!
Get paper cutters and more!
Get hole punches and embossers,
With heat guns galore!
From left to right we went right to work
Filling our baskets straight to the brim
We grabbed keepers and crop hoppers
Stamp pads and trim
We grabbed glue dots, eyelets and all different stencils
We got every color of specialty pencils
10 hours later and 25 carts
We grabbed everything for our Crafts and our Arts.
We ran a good race
Going aisle upon aisle
We stocked our supplies
Well at least for a while
We sprang to our truck and gave it a roar
Filled to the top, it couldn’t hold more
I was heard to exclaim as I drove out of sight
Happy Crafting to all and to all a good night
