Halloween pumpkin carving is a fun fall pastime for many families. There is no need to pay for pumpkin carving patterns when hundreds are available for free download online.

Where to Download Free Pumpkin Carving Patterns: Happy, Scary, Halloween, and Fall Templates

Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether or not an online pumpkin carving pattern is actually free. Many sites will offer a handful of patterns for free, but charge for access to a larger database. Below are two links to websites that only offer completely free pumpkin carving patterns in a variety of themes and difficulty levels.

Happy Pumpkins. Not all pumpkins need to be scary. Happy pumpkin carving patterns are available for free from the Better Homes & Gardens (BHG) website. Patterns download as PDF files. BHG recommends printing the pumpkin carving stencil, then resizing on a copier to a pumpkin-appropriate size.

Alternatively, to save a step, it might be a good idea to purchase a pumpkin based on the original size of the printed pattern. Caveat: Although the templates available from BHG are free, there are quite a few pop-ups to dodge along the way, and certain templates may require registration. Other truly unique templates (somewhat advanced patterns) from BHG include Shy Guy, Flying Witch, Vampire, Curly Locks Veggie Guy, and Crack‘em Up. However, extra steps are needed to achieve the same look as BHG did for these unique patterns (such as adding broccoli as hair for the Veggie Guy).

Scary, Halloween message, fall, and decorative patterns. The DotComWomen website offers a variety of stencil styles. Unique and fairly easy patterns include graveyard tombstone, cute sad ghost, and pretty flowers pumpkin templates. Click on any patterns to download or print.
