Father's Day Gift From the KidsGift Ideas, Children's Gifts, Photo Frame Gifts, Kid's Gift's to DadAs an adult, it isn't too hard to go to the local sporting goods store and pick out a gift for Father's day. But what does a child do who doesn't have a job?
For many mom supplies the funds to purchase a gift. For others, their name is attached to the gift already purchased. Neither of these give the child the opportunity to really take credit for the gift. From early on a child needs to feel the joy in giving a gift. It is as simple as framing a special picture. In this day and age, most people's photos are stored in the computer. Let the child pick out the perfect photograph of themselves or of them with dad. Print it off. You will need to purchase a double frame that is hinged. On the one side help the child frame their picture. On the other side have the child do a drawing or a painting of dad. It doesn't matter if it ends up a circle and squiggles. It is the child's masterpiece. You can take it even farther and allow them to alter the frame prior to framing. Depending on the age of the child they can paint it, glue items to it or even change the entire surface with modeling clay. Here are just a few ideas for decorating the frame. No matter which idea you use, allow them to feel the pride of giving. Colored Macaroni Noodles Put macaroni noodles into four ziploc bags. Add a couple drops of different food coloring into each bag. Zip the bags securely. Make it the child's job to shake the bags to distribute the color. If it is patchy, that is fine. Don't "fix" it. It is their gift. Once everything is colored. Spread the noodles out on paper towel and allow them to dry over night. The next day the noodles are ready to glue onto the frame. Decoupage Cartoons Give the child the funny pages of the newpaper. The Sunday paper has the colored cartoons that will work best. Have the child tear up all of the comics. Give them a bowl with glue and a small foam brush and instruct them to paint the back of the comic with glue and apply it to the frame. Once it is on the frame, they paint it with glue again. Repeat with each piece until the entire frame is covered or they are satisfied with the results. Alphabet CerealPurchase a box of alphabet cereal and let the children spell out their name in the cereal and glue them to the picture frame. Once glued they need to cover the cereal with glue to seal it. Don't forget Grandpa's love these too.
