A candy corn bucket is an easy and inexpensive autumn craft that can be used for many different purposes. This fall craft can serve as a trick-or-treat bag for Halloween candy for this kids. It can also be used to hold a centerpiece for an autumn table or be festive packaging for a Halloween gift.
Make a Fall Craft
There are only a few craft supplies needed to make a candy corn bucket. Gather a yellow bucket and one roll each of white and orange colored duct tape. If colored duct tape is not available, 3/4-inch wide electrical tape in white and orange can be substituted. The end of summer is a great time to purchase buckets for this craft as they may be marked down with the summer clearance items.
This fall craft will begin by wrapping white duct tape around the bottom of the bucket. Tear off a 5-inch strip of white-colored duct tape and then tear the strip into two pieces lengthwise.
Using thin, shorter strips will help the colored duct tape to lay flat as it is wrapped around the bucket. Layer and wrap strips of duct tape around the bucket until the white stripe is about 4 inches wide. Wrap the orange-colored duct tape around the bucket using the same method until the orange stripe is the same width as the white stripe.
Candy Corn Decoration or Trick-or-Treat Bag
The completed candy corn bucket can be used as a trick-or-treat bag for children. Once the colored duct tape is on hand it is easy to make several candy corn buckets. Use the candy corn buckets at Halloween parties and fill with candy and treats for the kids. PTA members can make and sell the buckets at Halloween carnivals. This autumn craft works for fall festivals or harvest parties as the candy corn bucket is not limited by a Halloween theme. For harvest parties, use the candy corn buckets to hold prizes or tickets.
Wrap a Halloween Gift
The candy corn bucket does not have to be used as a trick-or-treat bag for children. It can also serve as a creative way to wrap a Halloween gift. To wrap a Halloween gift in this fall craft, simply wrap the gift in white, orange or yellow tissue paper and place inside the candy corn bucket. Be sure to include a bag of candy corn in the bucket to complete the theme.
Use this Fall Craft on an Autumn Table
This fall craft isn’t limited to Halloween. For a festive autumn table, use this fall craft as a centerpiece with other candy corn decorations. To use the candy corn bucket as an attractive part of an autumn table, place a heavy rock or brick at the bottom of the bucket to make it more stable. Add florist foam and place dried or fresh flowers in the bucket.
