We have all seen those fake spills and probably had them played on us. Many of them are easy to make and can be entertaining to use.
Fake spills are a quick and easy way to pull a joke on a friend or family member. They are not difficult to make and allow for a lot of creativity in designing new one. I will include directions for a few here. Make your own and get creative. They are just as much fun to come up with as they are to use on people. Write me and tell me what fake spills you came up with. Varnish can spill Materials needed:
Heat up the glue gun. Lay the varnish can on its side on the baking sheet. When the glue is melted have several sticks at hand so you can work fast. Shoot the glue half into the can and half out. Use a lot of glue so the fake varnish is pooled a bit under the can to be convincing. It will also help secure the can to the fake varnish so it can be used again and again. Allow to harden and pop it off the baking sheet. Try using color to create effective spills. There are different methods to try. I have heard of people using food coloring, acrylic paint and colored glue sticks. I would just make sure you do not use any product on the heat that is not designed for use with high temperatures. I have listed an example of using acrylic paint but also note it is remove from the continued heat while using but the remaining heat in the pot will be neccesary to keep the glue from hardening before you are ready. Milk spill Materials needed:
Heat up the glue pot and when it is all liquid, unplug and stir in a small amount of white paint. Lay the cup on its side on the baking sheet. Pour the milky substance half in and half out of the cup. This might take two people so that one tips the baking sheet while holding the cup in place and the other one pours. Allow glue to harden and paint to dry completely. Pop off. Honey spill Materials needed:
Lay the honey jar on the baking sheet and shoot the glue half in and half out. Allow to dry and pop off. Try some of the colored glue sticks. Imagine you have an old paintbrush that dried with red paint and is stiff as a board and unusable. Get a couple of red glue stick and using the same process as above, create a red paint spill. Remember it only has to look realistic for a moment. Kind of like the idea of the rubber snake. They don’t look realistic but for that one initial moment it works.
