Embroidery brings back visions of grandmother's dresser scarves and table cloths. There is something so inherently charming about it. Grandmother spent hours poring...

over her embroidery hoops. You can have the same effects and in most cases better with minimal effort on your part. Once again Singer has come to our rescue. We live in a much faster world than ever before and activities like embroidery are falling to the wayside due to lack of time. Mothers are working too now but still want to follow the traditions laid down before them.

Thanks to Singer, it is entirely possible.

The Quantum Futura is an amazing piece of technology. It actually is fed information from your computer. Yes, the machines talk to each other. When you purchase a machine from the Singer website they send you a CD with 3,900 embroidery designs. You still are not limited to those. You can purchase and download more patterns. New designs are available regularly.

Grandma would jump up and click her heels to see how easy this is. That pillow case she worked weeks on in between cooking, cleaning and child rearing you can make in moments. Just push a button.

The machine comes wtih 3 different size hoops and 129 stitches. There is a built in needle threader and 4 different types of one-step buttonholes. Singer has not forgotten how we love the drop-in bobbin either.

Think about the gifts you can make instead of buying those expensive gifts. Personalized sheets and pillow cases for the bride and groom; a throw dated with the anniversary date for mom and dad; a child's shirt with their favorite cartoon character.

This is not only a time saver and money saver but it can also be a money maker. How about offering professionally embroidered personalized towels to your local boutique? Or a personalized quilt for the new baby offered at the local children's shop.

Once again, we bow to Singer's mission to supply us with all of our sewing needs even through time and technological changes. Thank you Singer for giving us just what we need. If you have any pull at all with Santa, can you mention that all of the Suite101 Craft readers have been very good this year!
