Some things are universal for all travelers and campers. One is packing and the other is needing things taken care of at home while they are away.

Even people who travel often need to make a list every time. They pack the same things but need to make a list so as not to forget their medicine or toothbrush, their camera or phone charger.

TRAVEL PACKING LIST

An easy and invaluable gift for a teen to make and give to their parents is to record the list. Type it up on the computer and actually make it into a pad. Each time the family is going somewhere they can tear off a page and go down the list checking off the items that are packed and see what still needs to be packed. Now whenever they are going to be traveling, Mom and Dad have one less hassle to take care of. The list is all ready and makes life that much easier. They can even include a list in their luggage to make sure they remember what they should be returning home with.

Materials Needed:

  • Computer
  • Printer
  • Paper
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Hinged Ring
  • Hole puncher

Preparation

  1. On your computer type up the latest travel packing list
  2. Copy and paste the list to fill the sheet of paper using your column feature.
  3. Print and cut apart each list
  4. Punch a hole in the top corner of each list

Assembly

Insert the ring of the hinged ring through each of the lists. You can make a cover but cutting a piece of cardstock to size of the lists and decorate it any way you like.

COUPON BOOK

Another gift that is easy for a teenager to make is a coupon book. Many times when the parents travel for work or play the teenagers stay home to keep up with school and sports. While at home the parents want to feel comfortable that the animals are being fed and the mail is being brought in. Make a coupon book so that the parents can redeem a coupon for the garbage to be taken out, mail brought in the house and animal care each time they are gone. If there are other chores that need to be done during that time it is a great reminder to the teen to get them done by having the coupon in a noticable spot.

Materials Needed:

  • Computer
  • Printer
  • Paper
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Hinged Ring
  • Hole puncher

Preparation

  1. On your computer type up a coupon in an 18pt font that states: This coupon entitles the bearer to......
  2. For each coupon you decide what you want it redeemed for.
  3. Copy and paste the coupon to fill the sheet of paper using your column feature.
  4. Print and cut apart each coupon
  5. Punch a hole in the top corner of each coupon

Assembly

Insert the ring of the hinged ring through each of the coupons. You can make a cover with cardstock if you choose.
